Abdullah ibn Abdur Rahman reported: Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, said to him, “I see you love sheep and the desert. When you are among your sheep or in your desert and announced the call to prayer, then raise your voice with the call. Verily, the sound of the caller’s voice is not heard by any jinn, nor human, nor anything but that it will testify for him on the Day of Resurrection. And let not those among you who are blessed with graces and wealth swear not to give (any sort of help) to their kinsmen, al-masakin (the poor), and those who left their homes for Allah's Cause. Let them pardon and forgive. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful [Translation of al-Nur, 24:22] .

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Be merciful to others and you will receive mercy. O believers! When you are asked to make room in your meetings, make room, Allah will make room for you in the Hereafter. And if you are told to rise up, then rise up: Allah will raise to higher ranks those of you who have faith and knowledge. Allah is aware of all your actions [Translation of al-Mujadalah, 58:11] .

On 22 - 24 April 2018, ISDEV members consisting of ISDEV Director, Assoc. On 23-25 March 2018, ISDEV has organised a hands-on human development camp (KEMPI’18) for its MISDEV16.2 and MISDEV17.1 students (ISDEV Postgraduate Masters (Mixed-Mode) students). This programme is an annual programme that emphasizes on the practical aspect of human development as an enrichment to the theoretical aspects covered in the class and it is also part of graduation requirement for MISDEV16.2 and MISDEV17.1 in the third semester. Theoretical and practical of corpse management For this year, KEMPI'18 was held at Kem Motivasi Mawaddah, Batu Kurau, Taiping, Perak. KEMPI’18 consisted of four main activities. First was Public Speaking which covered the delivering of  tazkirah ,  khutbah , parliamentary debate and presentation. Second was for the brothers to practice their role as Imam and Bilal. Third, the Art and Ethics of Slaughtering Management and fourth was the Art and Ethics of Corpse Management. All these four activities were conducted on the three consecutive days...

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would seek seclusion ( al-i’tikāf ) in the mosque during the last ten nights of Ramadan and he would say, “Seek the Night of Decree during the last ten nights of Ramadan.” In another narration, the Prophet said, “Seek the Night of Decree in the odd nights among the last ten nights of Ramadan.” [Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī; 1916, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim; 1169. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Every good deed of the son of Adam is multiplied by ten, up to seven hundred times as much. Allah Almighty said: Except for fasting, as it is for me and I will reward it personally. He leaves his desires and his food for my sake. The fasting person will be relieved twice, once at the time of breaking fast and the other when he meets his Lord. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zakaria delivering ISDEV Director's Tarbiyah On 30 March 2018, the ISDEV Director's Tarbiyah brings the title of 'Restoring the Practices of Sadaqah '. Associate Prof Dr Zakaria discussed the various forms of Sadaqah that can be practiced by ISDEV fraternity. He focuses on voluntary donations. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zakaria quotes the verse 103 from Surah At-Tawbah which means: "Take, [O Muhammad], from their wealth, the charity you cleanse with it and cause them to increase, and pray for them. Indeed, your prayer is a guarantee for them. And Allah is Hearing, Knowing". Based on these verse, Assoc. Prof.  Dr Zakaria attributes the benefits of Sadaqah as purifying the soul, facilitating the affairs and healing the illness for the charitable people. The approach proposed by Assoc. The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him fast the same) number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and (He desireth) that ye should complete the period, and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful [Translation of al-Baqarah, 2:185] .

Abu Sa’eed Al-Hasan reported: Ai’dh ibn Amr, a companion of the Prophet, visited Ubaidullah ibn Ziyad who was the ruler and he said to him: Dear son, I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, “Verily, the worst shepherds are those who are harsh, so beware not to be one of them.” Ibn Ziyad said to him, “Sit down, for you are only a husk among the companions of the Prophet.” Ai’dh said, “Was there any husk among them? [Fasting for] a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then an equal number of days [are to be made up]. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]. And whoever volunteers excess - it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew [Translation of al-Baqarah, 2:184] .

Praise to Allah SWT for the success of two RISDEV (ISDEV postgraduate by research) candidates, Shahrinizam Mohd Amin and Sakinatul Raadiyah Abdullah in their viva voce on 2 March 2018. Their viva took place at C23, Social Science Conference Room, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and were divided into morning and afternoon session. Viva voce is a big step in completing their Ph.D research journey after struggling for nearly 3 years to complete their research. ISDEV Graduate Discourse for February 2018 was held on 22 February 2018. Two RISDEV students were involved in the graduate discourse in presenting their PhD final draft thesis in front of ISDEV fraternity. Farah Farhana passionately presenting her PhD findings The Graduate Discourse was held at ISDEV open library, which involved two RISDEV students presented their thesis proposals. The first candidate was Farah Farhana Johari with her Ph.D final draft thesis titled " Asas Pembinaan Pernyataan Visi dan Misi Institusi Pembangunan Berteraskan Islam Di Malaysia ". Farah Farhana is supervised by Dr. Fadzila Azni Ahmad. Her final thesis was evaluated by Dr. Shahir Akram Hassan who gave his approval for the to proceed with the submission of thesis draft.
